Grant Description

The Applied Analytics and Data Infrastructure (AADI) Catalyst Program is an internal funding initiative sponsored by the Nebraska Research Initiative to support collaborative, field-based human subjects research across the University of Nebraska system. The program is administered by the MAP Academy and is aimed at fostering rigorous research practices and enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration among full-time faculty members. It is specifically designed to catalyze new research partnerships that are positioned to become competitive for larger-scale funding in the future. The AADI Catalyst Program targets University of Nebraska faculty from all campuses and all academic disciplines who are actively engaged in human subjects research. Proposals must be submitted by full-time faculty who are also eligible for federal funding. The program is especially relevant for those seeking to expand the scope and sophistication of their fieldwork, particularly through access to specialized support services offered by the MAP Academy. Applicants may request funding up to a maximum of $5,000. Awarded funds must be used within the fiscal year and are restricted to approved project expenditures. All funding must be expended by June 30, 2026. A range of support services is available to selected projects, including technical assistance and infrastructure resources, though specific allowable uses are outlined in separate documentation. Proposals are to be submitted electronically through the designated submission form. Applicants are encouraged to prepare all content in advance in a word processor before copying it into the submission form. The deadline for priority consideration is October 17, 2025. Submissions received after that date will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Applicants should expect a review period of approximately three to four weeks after submission. The application process involves two phases of review. Phase one will begin in October 2025 with initial project selection. In the second phase, MAP Academy staff will hold meetings with potential awardees during October and November to assess the fit and finalize project plans. Notifications of final decisions will be issued by November 15, 2025. Funded projects must use their awards during fiscal year 2026, concluding by June 30, 2026. While rolling review is available after the priority deadline, early submission is encouraged for full consideration.
