Town of Avon Community Grant Program
This funding initiative provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that deliver essential programs and services addressing housing, food insecurity, and childcare needs in the Avon, Colorado community.
The 2026 Town of Avon Community Grant Program is a funding initiative operated by the Town of Avon to provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations offering programs and services that benefit the Avon, Colorado community. The program's purpose is to support efforts in areas not otherwise covered by the municipal government, particularly in the fields of arts, culture, education, environment, health, heritage, housing, human services, Latino outreach, and recreation. For the 2026 cycle, the Town has identified housing, food insecurity, and childcare as the top three priority funding areas. The grantmaking effort aligns with the town's annual budgeting process, and all funds are subject to availability and final approval by the Avon Town Council. Applications for this program are reviewed on an annual basis and evaluated by an Ad Hoc Community Grant Review Committee. The committee reviews each application for completeness, supporting documentation, alignment with eligibility requirements, and consistency with review guidelines. They also consider recommendations and funding availability. Based on their evaluation, the committee forwards funding recommendations to the Avon Town Council, who make the final funding decisions during the December 2025 budget adoption process. The total approved funding for the program in 2025 was $108,000, and although this is anticipated to remain consistent for 2026, final figures are not guaranteed. To be eligible for the grant, applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing with the IRS, the State of Colorado, and local funding-related agencies. Additionally, they must be registered as a Colorado nonprofit and organized within the state. Only programs and services that directly benefit the Avon community—including residents and businesses—are considered eligible. Political and religious purposes are expressly excluded. Grant requests are capped at a maximum of $10,000 per organization. Applications must be submitted electronically by 4:59 p.m. on September 5, 2025. Applicants must request a link for submission by emailing info@avon.org. Submissions must include a one-page executive summary, a detailed program description, expected beneficiaries, a financial need explanation, IRS Form 990, and a detailed line-item budget. The application also asks for past and current funding history with the Town of Avon, any in-kind services received or requested, program outcomes and metrics, and all other current and projected funding sources. Applicants are limited to one submission, and late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The funding will not be available until after January 1, 2026, and awards may be disbursed in installments. No presentation meetings are expected, though the Grants Review Committee may follow up with questions or requests for clarification before formal review. The Town will not send reminders to previous applicants; all organizations must reapply each year for new or continued funding. All applicants will be notified of the funding decision after the Town Council’s final budget approval in December 2025. For more information or questions, applicants are encouraged to contact Elizabeth Wood, Communications & Marketing Manager, at 970-748-4087 or via email at ewood@avon.org:contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}.
