Global Streets Awards

The STREETS Global Awards are international honors presented by STREETS International to recognize and elevate early-stage social enterprises and initiatives creating positive social impact through hospitality and tourism. Aimed at mission-driven organizations within their first one to five years of operation, these awards spotlight innovation, sustainability, community empowerment, and measurable impact. This opportunity is designed not only to provide financial awards but also to build capacity among applicants through mentorship and visibility. There are two main award categories within the STREETS Global Awards. The Alan Spanier Impact Award offers $10,000 to a program excelling in youth development within the tourism sector. The STREETS Social Enterprise Award for Hospitality and Tourism also offers $10,000 to an organization effectively using hospitality and tourism as tools for social change. In addition, all finalists will receive a recognition certificate to honor their contributions and promote continued engagement in the sector. The application process is structured to be beneficial even for those not receiving the main awards. Applicants gain experience in impact storytelling, financial transparency, and strategic communication. The judging panel includes distinguished professionals from academia, nonprofit leadership, business, and international development, with representation from the U.S., Vietnam, Ghana, China, Colombia, South Africa, Canada, and other global regions. The application period for the 2025 awards runs from May 15 through August 15. During July and August, applications undergo an initial administrative review. Expert judging and finalist selection occur in September and October, with finalists announced in November. The award ceremony is scheduled for December. To apply, individuals and organizations must submit an online application along with required documentation. Applications must demonstrate legal certification, a defined mission and goals, innovative practices, sound governance, partnership engagement, clear communication strategies, and transparent financial management.
