Amazon's Black Business Accelerator
This program provides financial support and resources to help Black-owned businesses grow, acquire customers, and succeed on Amazon's platform through education, mentorship, and expert guidance.
Amazon’s Black Business Accelerator (BBA) is a corporate grant and incentive program established by Amazon to promote equity and growth among Black-owned businesses selling on Amazon. As part of Amazon’s commitment to racial equity, the initiative aims to empower Black entrepreneurs by addressing historical disparities in business ownership and access to capital, education, and opportunities in e-commerce. The BBA provides a wide-ranging support system for eligible new Amazon sellers who identify as Black-owned businesses. Once accepted, participants can receive upwards of $50,000 in potential financial incentives and services. These include credits for Amazon services, cash grants, advertising credits, imaging services, and access to a strategic account manager. These incentives are structured to reduce initial startup costs, increase visibility, and boost long-term sales performance on Amazon's platform. Eligibility is restricted to U.S.-based sellers with a Professional Amazon selling account in good standing who identify as Black-owned and are certified through recognized minority business certifications. The business must sell physical products and must not have received prior BBA incentives. Other conditions apply, including a requirement to maintain active participation and meet Amazon’s ongoing performance metrics. Applicants are required to create an Amazon Professional Seller account, complete the enrollment form for the BBA, and verify their Black-owned status via a third-party certification or attestation. No formal LOI or external grant application form is needed beyond Amazon's internal onboarding process. Participants receive benefits on a rolling basis once approved and as they meet program milestones. There is no strict deadline associated with the BBA program, as applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and Amazon does not publish an annual application cycle. Instead, the program operates continuously, and updates are posted directly to Amazon’s BBA page. Customer support is handled through Amazon’s Seller Central. The BBA does not publish public evaluation rubrics or award notices. However, success is measured by the applicant’s performance and compliance with Amazon Seller policies. Program benefits are dispersed progressively based on performance and activity within the Amazon platform.
