Arts Council of Placer County Grant
This funding opportunity supports a variety of arts-related projects and programs in Placer County, California, aimed at enhancing community engagement, cultural development, and social equity through the arts.
The Arts Council of Placer County (ACPC) offers a competitive grant program designed to support the arts within Placer County, California. As a local arts agency, ACPC is dedicated to fostering the artistic and cultural landscape of the region. This grant program aims to fund projects and programs that enrich the community, enhance cultural vitality, and support diverse creative expressions. The grant’s overarching objectives are to promote artistic development, encourage public engagement in the arts, advance social justice and racial equity, and stimulate economic and tourism benefits across the county. Awards will be made for projects implemented between March 1 and December 31, 2026. Applicants can request funding within six clearly defined categories, each with a specified funding range. Categories include After-School Arts Education in Schools ($250–$1,500), Performers/Artists ($250–$1,500), Film Projects ($500–$1,500), Arts Organizations – For-Profit for scholarships only ($500–$2,500), Arts Organizations – Non-Profit or with Fiscal Sponsor ($500–$2,500), and Public Art/Special Arts Projects ($1,000–$2,500). Applicants must ensure that their requested amounts fall within these designated ranges, or the applications will not be considered. Projects must be based in Placer County, with the administrative offices and staff also located in the county. The grant funds may not be used for projects outside of Placer County, school-day programming, fundraising, lobbying, political activity, private events, religious purposes, trust or endowment creation, construction, equipment purchases (rentals allowed), debt repayment, hospitality, or salaries (although one-time stipends are permissible). Instead, eligible expenses include event production, artist fees, community engagement initiatives, and project-specific activities aligning with ACPC's goals. Funded activities must be completed by December 31, 2026. The grant process is structured in two parts. Part I, the application, must be submitted between January 1 and March 1, 2026. Applications will be reviewed and scored by March 31, 2026, with notifications sent by April 15. Approved applicants will receive 50% of their grant funds by April 30. The remaining 50% will be distributed upon successful submission of the Part II Grant Report, due within one month of project completion. This report must include testimonials, marketing materials, media assets, and written acknowledgments of ACPC support. Applicants are limited to one application per organization. Nonprofits must be in good standing with the California Secretary of State. Projects such as murals or sculptures require prior approval and schematics. All grantees must be registered in ACPC’s Art Directory and subscribe to the ACPC mailing list prior to application submission. Applications that fail to meet guidelines or lack completeness will not be considered. ACPC may suspend applicants who do not fulfill their obligations, including timely submission of reports. Applications will be evaluated based on criteria such as community economic impact, artistic excellence, public engagement, diversity and inclusion, education and outreach, feasibility, and collaboration. The scoring committee will also consider the number of applications submitted, alignment with funding priorities, and available funding in each category. Any questions should be directed to [email protected] or (916) 209-6778. The application is set to go live on January 1, 2026.
