Grant Description

The Lewisville-Clemmons Community Grants program is administered by the Shallow Ford Foundation, a philanthropic nonprofit organization serving communities in North Carolina. This specific grant opportunity is designed to support tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that provide services within the Lewisville and Clemmons communities. The initiative seeks to catalyze local nonprofit efforts that foster community cohesion, meet underserved needs, and enhance the overall quality of life in the region. The purpose of this grant is to support nonprofit-led projects that address gaps in community services while promoting organizational capacity and self-sufficiency. Proposals are encouraged to demonstrate how the supported initiative will achieve long-term sustainability through the attraction or leveraging of additional resources. Funding is available both for the development of new projects and for the expansion or continuation of existing efforts that have proven to be impactful. While a wide range of community-based proposals are welcomed, special consideration will be given to applications that focus on two key priority areas: support for seniors and addressing the unmet needs of children in the Lewisville and Clemmons communities. The program values collaborative proposals that involve multiple nonprofit partners working together on a clearly defined effort. These joint applications must outline shared responsibilities and describe the collaborative structure used to execute the project. Each grant will offer up to $7,500 in funding. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and governmental or quasi-governmental agencies that have existed for a minimum of three years. Applicants must also hold a current Charitable Solicitation License issued by the North Carolina Secretary of State. Organizations without access to tax-funded sources are generally given preference during review. Certain uses of funds are explicitly prohibited. These include fundraising events, capital campaigns, annual drives, political lobbying, advertising or promotional products, student travel, club activities, services with limited membership, cemetery support, and individual award disbursements. Applications submitted for these purposes will be automatically disqualified. The application opens on September 9, 2025, and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on October 9, 2025. All required materials, including supplemental documentation, must include the organization’s name and contact information. Marketing brochures and unrelated materials should not be included. After submission, applications will be reviewed by a panel of independent community volunteers, followed by review and final approval from the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Award notifications will be sent out in late November, with grant funds disbursed to selected organizations in early December.
