Trinity Health Grand Rapids offers the Grand Rapids Community Impact Grant Program to support nonprofit organizations operating in Kent County, Michigan. This program is part of the health system's broader mission to address healthcare gaps, improve community well-being, and promote health equity through community investment.
The grants are specifically targeted at reducing barriers to health and meeting social needs. Funding is intended to address one or more of the top five health priorities identified in the most recent Kent County Community Health Needs Assessment: Housing, Health Insurance, Access to Medical Care, Access to Healthy Food, and Mental Health. Applicants must ensure their programs align with Trinity Health’s mission, vision, and values.
Each year, grants of up to $40,000 are awarded, with a stipulation that no program can receive funding for more than three consecutive years. Smaller awards of $10,000 or less may be issued if funds are available after principal grants are distributed. This opportunity is not offered on a rolling basis but is recurring annually, with the next application cycle starting June 1, 2025.
To initiate the process, interested organizations must submit a Letter of Intent through Trinity Health's Online Grant Management System by June 30, 2025, at 5 p.m. Full application invitations will be sent by July 31, 2025. A virtual information session is scheduled for June 10, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. to help clarify application requirements and offer technical assistance.
Eligible applicants are limited to nonprofit organizations that serve residents within Kent County. Contact for this funding opportunity is Michael Ramsey, who can be reached at Michael.Ramsey@trinity-health.org. Applicants are encouraged to attend the virtual session to optimize their application process and improve their understanding of Trinity Health’s funding goals.
