Grant Description

The Bohemian Foundation's Music Event Fund provides financial support for single- and multi-day events that highlight popular contemporary music and feature local artists. The fund prioritizes events that ensure fair compensation for local artists and production staff, include high-quality sound systems, and engage diverse and broad communities, especially youth. This program reflects the foundation's commitment to fostering artistic expression and vibrant community engagement through live music. Eligible applicants must be public charity organizations classified under sections 509(a)(1) or 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code or governmental units defined in section 170(c)(1). Events must take place within Larimer or Weld counties in Colorado and must make popular contemporary music an integral part of the event. Private foundations, fiscal sponsors, and 509(a)(3) organizations are not eligible, nor are individuals or commercial entities. Applicants can request between $500 and $2,500 per event, with only one award allowed per organization each year. The fund operates on a rolling basis and accepts applications throughout the year, provided they are submitted at least 60 days before the event date. The program will conclude in 2026, making 2025 the final year to submit applications. The application process is straightforward, but applicants should ensure their events align with the fund’s goals. The foundation encourages grant recipients to promote the Bohemian Foundation's sponsorship in their outreach and event marketing. Support materials, including logos and promotional guidelines, are available to successful applicants. The fund does not support school trips, emergency funding, benefit concerts for external causes, or events such as parties, walks, or golf tournaments. Events without a focus on contemporary music are also excluded. Duplicate applications to both the Music and Community Event Funds for the same event are not permitted. Contact with the Bohemian Foundation can be made via phone at 970-221-2636. Applications must be complete and meet all criteria to be considered, with the foundation responding within 30 days of submission.
