Organizations may apply for either project-based support or general operating funds. Most grants awarded will be multi-year in nature, with anticipated annual funding around $18,000 for three years, although larger or smaller amounts may be considered depending on the project’s alignment, scope, and impact. First-time applicants are eligible for consideration but may be awarded one-time grants. All proposals should include a strong mission connection and clearly defined outcomes or use of funds.
Applicants must submit their proposals by 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Funding decisions will be made by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, who may request site visits or virtual meetings during the review period. All grants require an annual report, which will be submitted via the online portal.
The Foundation also administers an invitation-only Strategic Project Grant program for large-scale, high-impact initiatives. These grants typically support distinct one-time projects at institutions with operating budgets over $5 million. While this track is not currently open for applications, it supports transformational work such as program launches, medical research, infrastructure, and public education initiatives aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
There is no matching requirement for either grant type. Budgets may include reasonable overhead or indirect costs as long as they are clearly detailed. Applications are limited to one per organization within a 12-month period unless the organization is explicitly invited to apply again. In all categories, the Foundation seeks proposals that demonstrate clarity of goals, measurable outcomes, and strong community impact.
