Loudoun Impact Fund
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations and schools in Loudoun County to support programs that assist vulnerable children, people with disabilities, and older adults by addressing their basic needs and promoting health, education, and social support.
The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, is accepting proposals for the Loudoun Impact Fund 2025. The Loudoun Impact Fund is a giving circle of donors who pool contributions to collectively fund grants that address important local needs in Loudoun County. Donors contribute either $1,000 per individual or $5,000 per foundation or corporation, and they also serve as volunteer reviewers and decision-makers in the grantmaking process. This initiative fosters community engagement by combining charitable resources to create a larger impact while also educating donors about local issues and nonprofit work. The purpose of the Loudoun Impact Fund is to support organizations serving vulnerable or at-risk children and youth, people with disabilities, and older adults in Loudoun County. Grantmaking priorities include programs that provide basic needs such as food, shelter, and housing, as well as initiatives focused on health and wellness, trauma-informed services, academic support, childcare, life-skills training, employment placement, youth development, and social support for people with disabilities and older adults. The emphasis is on services and projects that create measurable and positive impacts for these populations within the county. Funding is available for projects and services that will be carried out between December 1, 2025, and November 1, 2026. The total anticipated funding pool is $100,000, with typical grant awards ranging between $5,000 and $10,000. Smaller or larger awards outside of this range may be considered, and partial funding is also possible. All awarded funds must be expended by November 3, 2026, with final reports documenting outputs, outcomes, and expenditures required by that date. Extensions for project completion may be considered if requested in writing. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charities in good standing with the IRS, public or nonprofit schools, and faith-based organizations. While faith-based organizations are eligible, the Loudoun Impact Fund does not fund projects that proselytize or exclude participants on the basis of religion. This eligibility framework ensures inclusivity while maintaining compliance with the foundation’s charitable purpose. Applicants must focus their proposed activities on Loudoun County residents to be considered. Applications open on August 18, 2025, and the deadline for submission is September 19, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. An optional pre-application workshop will be held virtually on September 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. and will be recorded and made available to all registrants. Following submission, proposals will be reviewed by Loudoun Impact Fund members, who will make funding recommendations to the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors for final approval. Notification of grant awards is expected by November 24, 2025, and successful applicants will be invited to attend a grantee and donor reception on December 4, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Applications must be submitted online through the Community Foundation’s grant portal, and new users must create an account to apply. Questions about the application process can be directed to Joanne Trimmer at joanne@communityfoundationlf.org or 703-779-3505, extension 1. The Community Foundation encourages applicants to carefully consider how their programs align with the fund’s stated priorities and ensure that their proposals clearly demonstrate measurable outcomes. This grantmaking process represents both a funding opportunity and a collaborative effort to address pressing community needs in Loudoun County.
