Vandalism Recovery and Prevention Grant Program
The City of Hyattsville Vandalism Recovery Grants Program provides economic relief to small businesses and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations within Hyattsville impacted by vandalism. The program, funded with $15,000 through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) This grant provides up to $2,000 per business or nonprofit organization for reimbursement of repairs following vandalism incidents that occurred between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2024, which weren't fully covered by insurance.

•Funding for the Vandalism Recovery Grant can only be used for reimbursement of commercial property damage repairs that are a result of a vandalism incident that occurred between July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2024 and were not fully covered by insurance proceeds. Eligible damage to a physical space is: o broken window(s) or etching on window(s); o broken or damaged door(s); o broken or damaged lock(s); o broken or damaged sign(s); o broken or damaged fence(s); Vandalism Recovery and Prevention Grant Program Guidelines Application Cycle: April 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024 Page 4 of 8 o broken or damaged gate(s); o broken or damaged shelf (shelves) inside the property; o broken or damaged fixture(s) inside the property; o broken or damaged display case(s); o graffiti removal. Must be a small business or a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Hyattsville with fewer than 50 employees and $1,000 to $5 million in annual revenue. Must hold a current City of Hyattsville Business License or provide an IRS Determination Letter for nonprofits.
