Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation Equipment Grants
This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations, schools, and public entities in Vermont to purchase essential equipment that supports programs aimed at preventing youth-related issues and promoting positive family and community engagement.
The Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation (VCTF) offers quarterly Equipment Grants to support non-profit organizations, schools, and public entities serving children in the state of Vermont. These grants are specifically intended to support primary prevention programs that serve youth from birth to age 18. VCTF emphasizes support for community-based programs that proactively reduce risks such as juvenile delinquency, truancy, substance abuse, and child abuse by promoting positive family functioning and coordinated youth services. The Equipment Grants are capped at $2,000 per award and are designed to fund discrete equipment needs or the replacement of vital items essential to program operations. Emergency Equipment Grants are also available on a rolling basis to respond to urgent needs, such as loss of essential items due to natural disasters, theft, or when specialized equipment is necessary for a child's well-being. Regular Equipment Grant applications must be submitted by specific deadlines throughout the year—January 31, April 30, July 31, and October 31—with awards being distributed in the following month. Eligibility for these grants is restricted to private non-profits, schools, and public entities operating within Vermont. Organizations must not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability. Furthermore, construction projects, certain types of equipment (like trampolines and playhouses), and requests for shipping or taxes are not eligible for funding. Applicants must be in regulatory compliance with relevant Vermont state agencies and up-to-date with previous grant reporting. Applications must be completed online through VCTF’s updated application system. Applicants are required to follow the provided format, submit a complete application, and ensure all documentation is provided before final submission, as attachments are not accepted post-submission. Fiscal agents, when used, must have their tax ID and fiscal year timing provided. Emergency applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and must demonstrate an urgent, essential need for funding. Recipients of the Equipment Grant are required to submit a final report and receipts for purchased equipment within 30 days of funding. For assistance, applicants can contact Theo at theo@vtchildrenstrust.org or call 802-951-8604. VCTF’s office is located at 95 St. Paul Street, Suite 330, Burlington, VT 05401. Applications must be submitted electronically, and applicants may begin, pause, and return to their applications through their personal dashboards.
