To qualify for this grant, applicants must have owned and occupied their home as a primary residence for at least one year prior to applying. Properties must have current taxes or be enrolled in an approved repayment plan, and cannot be listed for sale during the application process or while repairs are underway. Additionally, applicants cannot have received funding from any City grant program within the past two years and must maintain homeowner’s insurance on the property.
Eligible projects focus on exterior home improvements such as window replacement, porch or deck repairs, painting, siding maintenance, roofing work, exterior lighting upgrades, garage repairs, door replacements, gutter installation or repair, and driveway or sidewalk improvements. Repairs addressing existing Point-of-Sale violations are not covered by this grant.
Applicants seeking funding for projects over $500 are required to submit three comparable estimates from contractors. The program requires homeowners to contribute at least 10% of the total project cost or cover any expenses exceeding the grant amount. Work must not begin before approval and receipt of funds.
