Parks & Trails New York, in collaboration with the NY Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), is accepting applications for Round 11 of the Park and Trail Partnership Grants. This $2.5 million grant program supports nonprofit Friends groups working to improve the stewardship, promotion, and sustainability of New Yorkβs public parks, trails, historic sites, and DEC-managed lands.
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with missions aligned with environmental stewardship and public land support, particularly those affiliated with OPRHP or DEC. Projects may include capital improvements, maintenance, educational programs, beautification efforts, professional development, and capacity-building initiatives. Applications that promote accessibility, diversity, equity, and partnerships are especially encouraged.
The application portal opened May 15, 2025. Applications are due by August 29, 2025. Grant awards will be announced in January 2026. Matching private funds are strongly encouraged, and technical support is available through webinars and online resources.
