Illinois State Police Revocation Enforcement
This funding opportunity provides $1 million to county and city governments in Illinois to join a task force aimed at reducing gun violence and illegal firearm possession through enhanced law enforcement efforts.
The FY26 State Police Revocation Enforcement grant, formally known under the Violent Crime Intelligence Task Force FOID Grant, is administered by the Illinois State Police. The grant supports the ongoing mission of a statewide, multi-jurisdictional Violent Crime Intelligence Task Force. This task force, led by the Illinois State Police, is dedicated to preserving life and reducing violent crime and the fear it generates across communities. Its strategic objective is to reduce and prevent illegal firearm possession and usage, as well as firearm-related homicides and other violent crimes. The grant program is designed to reinforce this initiative by financially supporting enforcement activities related to the revocation of Firearm Ownerโs Identification (FOID) cards. Eligible applicants are limited to public agencies in Illinois, specifically county and city or township governments. Participation in the grant program requires that applicant agencies become members of the Violent Crime Intelligence Task Force and have access to the Illinois State Police Law Enforcement Portal. The total funding pool for this opportunity is $1,000,000, with individual awards ranging from a minimum of $2,000 up to the full award ceiling of $1,000,000. Awards will be administered as non-competitive grants, and indirect costs are not permitted under this program. Each grant award will cover a one-year period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Applications open on January 5, 2025, and must be submitted by April 15, 2025. All applications must be submitted through the AmpliFund system. Prior to submission, applicants are encouraged to review program materials and requirements. Technical assistance sessions will not be provided for this cycle. Questions regarding the application process should be directed to M/Sgt. Brent Frey via email at Brent.Frey@Illinois.gov or through the designated grants inbox. Questions related to eligibility requirements should be directed to Matthew Buchanan or Jacob Roberts at ISP.Grants@Illinois.gov. All question submissions must be made between January 5 and April 11, 2025. Successful applicants will be notified by July 1, 2025, with anticipated award announcements beginning June 1, 2025. Once approved, grantees will receive a grant agreement through the AmpliFund system for electronic execution. Reporting requirements include monthly performance updates and quarterly financial reports, both of which must be submitted through AmpliFund using uploaded Excel templates within seven days following the respective reporting periods.
