Margaret Clark Art Grants
This grant provides funding to support and enrich K–12 public school art programs, scholarships for high school art students, and community art education initiatives in the Redlands area.
The Margaret Clark Art Education Enrichment Fund (MCAEEF), administered by the Redlands Art Association, provides annual funding to support and enrich art education in the Redlands community. Established as part of the Redlands Art Association’s broader mission to foster artistic development, the fund offers a range of grant types that target students, educators, and community groups within the Redlands Unified School District and surrounding areas. Funding for these initiatives is primarily generated through proceeds from the Redlands Cinema Classic movie series and supplemented by community donations. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for K–12 public school art programs within the Redlands Unified School District. These may include classroom-based initiatives and after-school activities, with prior support having gone to elementary-level programs and community youth arts organizations. Eligibility criteria and award amounts can vary from year to year, but the overall focus remains on supporting classroom art education and increasing student engagement with the visual arts. High school students in the Redlands area may also benefit from scholarships and awards. These are typically coordinated by local high school art teachers, who select outstanding students for recognition based on artistic achievement. The fund also supports individuals or groups proposing activities or projects aligned with the broader goals of the Redlands Art Association’s Art Education Program, provided they demonstrate measurable educational value. Additional grants are available for those enrolled in art classes at the Redlands Art Association gallery. Scholarship decisions for these adult and youth education classes are managed by the RAA Education Committee. Furthermore, the MCAEEF committee has the discretion to fund additional RAA-supported educational projects and necessary supplies to further enhance their arts programming. Applications must be submitted via a downloadable PDF form and mailed to the Redlands Art Association. The MCAEEF committee reviews applications at its monthly meetings and notifies applicants accordingly. All funded projects must occur within the current fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Awardees are required to submit an end-of-project report and detailed expense summary. Any unspent funds within $100 will be retained and deducted from future awards unless a new application is submitted; otherwise, unused funds must be returned by the end of the fiscal year.
