Grant Description

The Swisher Community Fund Grants are administered by the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC), an Iowa-based nonprofit that facilitates local philanthropic giving and investment to improve quality of life in Johnson County. Established in 2005, the Swisher Community Fund specifically aims to strengthen and support the well-being, engagement, and vibrancy of the Swisher, Iowa community. The purpose of the Swisher Community Fund grant cycle is to provide small-scale financial support to eligible nonprofit organizations and public entities working within or for the benefit of Swisher, Iowa. The grant cannot be used for debt repayment, direct support to individuals, political or lobbying activities, or religious initiatives that involve proselytizing or require participation in religious services. Additionally, funding is not available for activities that are already completed or for organizations that do not comply with the foundation’s nondiscrimination policy. The application period for the 2025 Swisher Community Fund grant cycle opens on June 24, 2025, and closes at 11:59 PM on July 25, 2025. All applications must be submitted through the CFJC online grant system. Awards will be announced in late August. A follow-up report is required by June 30, 2026, to document how the grant funds were used, and this report must also be submitted through the online portal. Applications are reviewed by a community selection committee.
