Summit Foundation Grant
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations serving Summit County and neighboring areas in Colorado, focusing on community development and diverse local needs.
The Summit Foundation provides annual grant opportunities to nonprofit organizations serving Summit County, Colorado, as well as its neighboring communities in Lake, Park, and West Grand Counties. The foundation’s mission is to support community development through local partnerships with organizations that address a range of needs across diverse impact areas. Nonprofits may apply once per year and must use the foundation’s online grant portal to submit their applications. The Fall 2025 grant cycle opened on August 14, 2025. Applications must be submitted by October 9, 2025. Organizations that have not previously received a grant from The Summit Foundation are required to schedule a preliminary conversation with the Community Impact Officer before creating an account in the application portal. Returning grantees should use their existing login credentials. Eligibility is limited to tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations operating in or providing active programming within Summit County. Organizations from the neighboring communities of Alma, Fairplay, Kremmling, and Leadville are also eligible, but grant requests from these areas are capped at $10,000 and prioritized for programs that meet basic needs. Each organization is allowed only one application per year. The foundation does not fund political campaigns, religious programming that restricts participation based on faith, completed projects, or programs whose long-term sustainability is solely dependent on Summit Foundation funding. Faith-based organizations are eligible to apply as long as their services are non-restrictive and open to all community members. Decisions for the Fall 2025 grant cycle are expected within 8 to 10 weeks following the application deadline. Organizations with questions or in need of assistance are encouraged to contact Kathryn Califf, Community Impact Officer, via email at kathryn@summitfoundation.org.
