The Kansas CDBG program provides funding for the construction or renovation of public recreational facilities and libraries to increase community engagement, health, connectedness, and vibrancy. The program offers up to $650,000 for communities with populations under 5,000 and up to $800,000 for larger communities, with a maximum of $2,000 per beneficiary. Eligible expenses include construction or renovation of community centers, libraries, parks, and associated amenities. Applications are evaluated based on project need, readiness, impact, sustainability, and matching funds. Applications are due by November 1, 2024.

All incorporated cities in Kansas, excluding Kansas City, Lawrence, Leavenworth, Manhattan, Overland Park, Topeka, Wichita, and all of Johnson County.
