EmpowerHer Fund Grant

The EmpowerHer Fund, administered by Women’s Empire, provides small grants to support women-led organizations, community groups, and individual women entrepreneurs whose projects focus on benefiting women and girls or advancing community development in New York City. The fund is designed to foster local impact through initiatives that empower women and contribute meaningfully to community resilience and growth. Grants of up to $1,000 are available per project. The application process is free of charge, and only one submission is allowed per applicant or organization per quarterly cycle. Submissions must include a detailed project proposal outlining the project description, budget, timeline, and any supporting documents. Projects must be well-defined, with clear and measurable objectives. If a previously funded applicant is applying again for the same project, they must show updates and justify the need for additional funding. The fund has a quarterly review cycle with the following 2025 deadlines: March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. All applications must be submitted electronically before 12:01 AM on the respective deadline day to be considered. Only successful applicants will be notified within 21 business days following each deadline. Proposals are evaluated based on several criteria: impact potential, sustainability, innovation, community engagement, and measurable goals. If a project involves fiduciary responsibility or working with vulnerable populations, background checks may be conducted. Misuse of grant funds may result in disqualification, repayment, and potential legal action. All grantees are required to submit a financial report with receipts within 30 days of receiving funds and a final impact report at the conclusion of the project. In addition, grantees must provide either a written or video testimonial of their experience with the Fund. Projects may be subject to periodic check-ins via email, phone, or in-person visits. Any significant changes to a project’s scope or budget must be approved in writing by the Fund’s trustees.
