Troy Foundation Quarterly Grants

The Troy Foundation’s Quarterly Grants program supports community-serving projects and programs located in or significantly benefiting Troy, Ohio. Administered by the Foundation’s Distribution Committee, this competitive grant opportunity considers applications from charitable organizations for funding in a variety of fields including arts and culture, community and economic development, education, environment, health, human services, and recreation. The Foundation explicitly notes that while organizations based outside of Troy may apply, they must demonstrate that their funded efforts will benefit a substantial number of Troy residents. In order to be considered for review, complete applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on the 15th day of the month immediately preceding the review meeting. The grant application must be submitted via the Foundation’s online portal. The Foundation provides a detailed Grant Application Guidelines document, outlining requirements such as a program narrative, description of project objectives, a project budget, organizational background, governance structure, staff qualifications, sources of income, and documentation of other funding requests. Required attachments include IRS Form 990, the organization’s budget, board list, tax determination letter (if a first-time applicant), and relevant annual reports or other supporting materials. Applications for Mini Grants, which are designated for projects with budgets of $2,000 or less, follow the same deadlines and use the same portal, but require less documentation. Grant recipients are notified in writing within ten days following the Distribution Committee's review. If approved, awardees must sign and submit a Grant Acceptance Form prior to receiving any funds. They are also required to submit a Final Report Narrative either within 90 days of receiving the grant or upon completion of the funded project, whichever comes first. This report helps the Foundation assess the success and impact of the funded initiative. Applicants are expected to outline their project’s purpose and community relevance, specify target populations and collaborative partners, describe implementation timelines, and provide a clear framework for evaluating success.
