St. Baldrick’s Foundation Infrastructure Grants 2025
This grant provides financial support to U.S.-based research institutions to improve their ability to conduct childhood cancer clinical trials, particularly those serving underserved populations.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers. Since becoming an independent charity in 2005, the Foundation has invested more than $356 million in childhood cancer research worldwide. The Foundation’s funding priorities include new discovery research, translational research, clinical trials, and education of new pediatric oncology researchers. The 2025 St. Baldrick’s Foundation Infrastructure Award provides one-year grants to U.S.-based academic, medical, or nonprofit research institutions to enhance their capacity to participate in childhood cancer clinical trials. The goal of this grant is not to fund specific research projects, but to support personnel or resources, such as hiring Clinical Research Associates, that enable increased clinical trial participation. Preference is given to institutions with high needs and low philanthropic support in areas where St. Baldrick’s funds are raised. The grant also prioritizes institutions serving populations with limited access to clinical trials. Applicants must be affiliated with the Children’s Oncology Group (COG) or applying for membership. Institutions actively promoting non-St. Baldrick’s head-shaving fundraisers are not eligible. Awards range from $25,000 to $50,000. The funds cannot be used for indirect costs, human embryonic stem cell research, or certain administrative expenses. Institutions must show a plan for sustaining funded positions beyond the grant period. Applications must be submitted via ProposalCentral. The application process begins with a Letter of Intent due by July 8, 2025, followed by a full proposal due by August 28, 2025. Applicants will be notified of award decisions by November 30, 2025. The award period begins on either December 1, 2025, or January 1, 2026, based on applicant choice. The application requires information on the institution, budget, need for funding, goals, and a resource-sharing plan. Applications will be evaluated based on institutional need, expected impact, previous funding from St. Baldrick’s, and local participation in Foundation events.
