The Goleta Child Care Grant Program is a collaboration between the City of Goleta and the Santa Barbara Foundation. It was developed to address the shortage of child care services for children ages 0–5, and to support providers serving families in the Goleta area. This program was launched following the Goleta City Council's approval of $250,000 in child care funding, made possible by revenue from Measure B, a one-cent sales tax passed by voters in 2022.
The program is designed to strengthen the child care sector through grants of up to $15,000 per provider. These grants are focused on four priority areas: workforce development, sustainable business models, inclusive family engagement, and leadership in child care. All applicants must be licensed nonprofit child care providers based in the City of Goleta.
Applications are being accepted from June 2 to June 30, 2025. The grant is not rolling but appears to be part of an ongoing effort, suggesting it may recur in future years. The total funding pool for this cycle is $50,000. Applications must address one or more of the program’s priority areas and show how the funding will support children and families in the Goleta community.
All application materials must be submitted during the open application window. Although a Spanish version of the application is available, applicants must email the program contact to request it. There is no indication of a pre-application requirement such as letters of intent.
