Louisiana Foundation Community Crisis & Disaster Response Grants

The Community Crisis & Disaster Response Grants, offered by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana Foundation, aim to support Louisiana-based nonprofits and community organizations in their efforts to meet immediate and medium-term needs arising from disasters and crises. These grants prioritize flexibility in funding to address food security, housing, family economic recovery, and other critical needs that contribute to the health, wellness, and wellbeing of communities, especially focusing on high-need children and community-level wellness initiatives. With grants up to $50,000 for COVID-19 response and up to $250,000 for hurricane relief, the foundation has allocated $15 million to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Delta, and ongoing COVID-19 impacts. Projects should be ready for immediate implementation but also sustainable over time to address specific disaster-related or ongoing crisis needs.
