Green Pastures Fund
This funding opportunity supports non-profit organizations and public agencies in developing and sustaining small, community-focused agricultural projects, such as farmer's markets and urban gardens.
The Green Pastures Fund, established in 1999 at the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation by an anonymous donor, aims to preserve and encourage small, community-based agricultural ventures. These may include community-supported agriculture, local farmer's markets, urban garden programs, agricultural scholarships, cooperative programming, internships, grant writing, and marketing. Proposals from non-profit organizations or public agencies for new or ongoing projects are considered, provided no project is funded for more than 3 consecutive years. Preference is given to projects with additional sources of funding or in-kind support. Grantees must wait twelve months before applying for another grant from the fund.
