The A.I.R. Fellowship Program for 2025–2026 is designed to support emerging and underrepresented women and non-binary artists based in New York City and surrounding areas. The program offers six artists the opportunity to develop and exhibit a project at A.I.R. Gallery, along with various professional development resources, including mentorship and studio visits.

Application Deadline: Sunday, November 3, 2024, by 11:59 PM ET.
Info Session: Thursday, August 29, at 6 PM ET (Registration required).
Notification: April 2025.
Program Duration: September 2025–August 2026.
Eligibility:
Must be a woman or non-binary artist, aged 18 or older.
Must be a resident of New York City, adjoining counties, or the Hudson Valley (Putnam, Dutchess, and Ulster counties) during the fellowship period.
Cannot have had a solo exhibition at a permanent venue in NYC in the last 5 years.
Cannot be a student or enrolled in any degree program during the fellowship.
Must not participate in another comparable fellowship or residency program at the same time.
Cannot currently be a member, employee, or board member of A.I.R. Gallery or have had a solo show at A.I.R.
Fellowship alumni are not eligible to apply.
Program Benefits:
A solo exhibition in Gallery II or III in Spring 2026.

Mentorship with an A.I.R. artist.
Professional development workshops (Fall 2025).
One-on-one studio visit with a review panelist.
An artist stipend (amount dependent on available funding).
Application Process:
The selection process is anonymous, and no submitted materials should include the artist’s name. If any file contains the artist’s name, the submission will be disqualified.
The application will be reviewed by a three-person panel of curators, critics, and artists. Final selections are made by A.I.R. artists following an in-person interview.
Six artists will be selected for the fellowship.
