Grant Description

The 2025 Monarch Mountain Impact Grant, administered through the Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF), is designed to support community-focused projects that reflect the core values of Monarch Mountain: environmental sustainability, recreation, humanitarianism, and the cultivation of a supportive community. Monarch Mountain and CCCF have partnered to deliver this funding opportunity with the intention of creating tangible and measurable impact within Chaffee County, Colorado. Grants from this program are open exclusively to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, or entities operating under the fiscal sponsorship of a qualified 501(c)(3), that are in good standing with both the IRS and the Colorado Secretary of State. Projects funded through this grant must be completed with all funds expended and final reports submitted by July 31, 2026. The total available funding for this cycle is $10,000, which may be awarded to one or more projects, depending on committee recommendations. Each application should demonstrate how the funds will increase the impact of an existing or new initiative in line with the grant's core themes. The application window opens on Monday, July 28, 2025, and closes on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Applications must be submitted online through CCCF’s grant portal. Ahead of submission, applicants are encouraged to create or update their user and organization profiles. The review process begins with an internal staff screening to ensure eligibility, verify nonprofit status, assess financial health, and confirm alignment with the funding goals. Applications will then be scored using a detailed rubric that evaluates mission alignment, goals, proposal strength, projected impact, evaluation methods, collaboration, challenges, and financial viability:contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}. Finalists will be shared with the Monarch Fund Advisors, who will make the ultimate funding recommendations. Select applicants may be asked to participate in site visits, which could take the form of a phone call, email exchange, or in-person meeting, depending on the nature of the clarification needed. Award announcements will be made in the first week of November 2025. Once grant agreements are finalized, funds will be disbursed via direct deposit within 10 business days. To maximize competitiveness, applicants are advised to carefully review the grant rubric and question list before submitting. Strong proposals will define clear activities, measurable outputs and outcomes, and will include relevant data to support their community impact narrative. Organizations with outstanding grant reports on previous CCCF awards will not be eligible to apply until all reporting requirements are fulfilled. For inquiries or assistance during the application process, applicants may contact CCCF by emailing anna@chaffeecommunity.org. Responses to inquiries should be expected within two business days. The Monarch Mountain Impact Grant provides a focused opportunity for mission-aligned nonprofits to implement meaningful projects that enrich the Chaffee County community through intentional and values-driven work.
