Hardeeville Discretionary Grants

Interested applicants were required to submit their completed applications through a designated online portal. Printed submissions or emailed applications were not accepted. Applications had to include several required documents such as a list of the organization’s board of directors, financial statements covering the past 12 months, the most recent annual report, a current IRS determination letter, and, if applicable, an independent audit report. Any incomplete applications or submissions missing required documentation were automatically disqualified. Applications were evaluated through a structured competitive review process. An initial panel reviewed and scored each submission, after which the Hardeeville Community Transformation Foundation Board of Directors made the final award decisions based on the panel's recommendations. Funding decisions were typically made within 45 days of the close of the application period. Grant recipients were required to execute a one-year grant agreement, during which time all awarded funds had to be used in alignment with the approved budget and project plan. At the end of the grant period, recipients were required to submit a comprehensive close-out report documenting all expenses. This included providing copies of issued checks and reconciled bank statements. Any funds that were unspent or could not be adequately documented were subject to repayment to the Foundation. All expenditures had to closely align with the proposed budget and project intent as described in the original application. Applications for this cycle were due by December 23. The program operates on an annual cycle and is expected to reopen for the next round in December 2026.
