Jordan Education Foundation’s Classroom Grant
This grant provides funding to full-time educators in Jordan School District, Utah, for classroom projects that enhance student learning and engagement.
The Jordan Education Foundation (JEF) Classroom Grant Program provides funding to licensed full-time educators in Jordan School District, Utah, including art, physical education, and music teachers. The program supports classroom projects through an application process that prioritizes early submissions due to limited funding availability. Educators are eligible to apply for up to $500 individually. Team applications are allowed, enabling multiple teachers to combine their individual limits for a larger shared project, with a maximum request of $500 per educator. Only one JEF grant can be awarded per educator annually, regardless of whether they apply individually or as part of a team. JEF gives funding preference to projects submitted through DonorsChoose, as these may qualify for time-sensitive matching offers from external foundations such as Gates or Chevron. This matching opportunity allows JEF to stretch its available budget and fund more teachers. Applicants using DonorsChoose must submit their project link via the JEF application form to be considered for funding. If a project is ineligible for DonorsChoose (e.g., materials not supported), educators may skip the DonorsChoose step and complete a standard JEF application with full project details. Grant funds may be used for classroom supplies and sustainable equipment that comply with district policies. Ineligible expenses include food items, faculty furniture, virtual home office furnishings, salaries, stipends, professional development, and travel. All awarded materials are considered the property of Jordan School District, not the individual educator or team. Items generally remain at the school site unless a transferring teacher obtains principal approval to relocate them within the district. The 2025 application window opens on August 1 and closes October 15, or earlier if funding is exhausted. The foundation advises applying early to maximize the chance of being funded. While funding decisions begin August 1, all funding will end by December 10, 2025, at the latest, whether or not the budget is fully utilized. Applicants with questions can contact the Jordan Education Foundation directly at 801-567-8125 for guidance on eligibility, restrictions, or the application process.
