Levitt AMP
This grant provides funding to U.S.-based nonprofit organizations in small to mid-sized towns to host free outdoor concerts that foster community engagement and celebrate local culture through diverse music programming.
The Levitt AMP Music Series Grants are a multi-year matching grant initiative administered by the Levitt Foundation. Since its launch in 2015, the Levitt AMP program has supported more than 50 communities across the United States, activating underused public spaces through free outdoor concerts and advancing the Levitt Foundation's mission to build community through music. The Foundation seeks to strengthen the social fabric of America by transforming underutilized outdoor public spaces into vibrant community destinations through the power of live, free music. This grant is specifically geared toward U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in small to mid-sized towns and cities with populations under 250,000. The program supports communities that demonstrate the potential to amplify local pride, celebrate unique character, and foster social connection through diverse and inclusive music programming. Grantees are awarded up to $40,000 annually for a total of up to $120,000 over three years (2026, 2027, 2028), enabling them to host 7-10 free concerts each year. Eligible applicants must be based in the same town, city, or county where the proposed music series will be held. Concerts must take place outdoors in accessible, lawn-like settings with no fixed seating and in underused public spaces that can be revitalized through community engagement and arts programming. Programming must be inclusive, family-friendly, and reflective of diverse musical genres and community demographics. Applicants must also show either a history of presenting quality concerts or collaboration with experienced partners and must meet annual matching fund requirements. In addition to funding, grantees receive comprehensive support including best practices, toolkits, and training opportunities from the Levitt Foundation. Special regional partnerships offer additional opportunities. In Tennessee, the Foundation has teamed up with the Tennessee Entertainment Commission (TEC) to offer six grants to Tennessee-based communities through the standard Levitt AMP application. Mississippi applicants may also be eligible for a combined public art/music series grant administered through the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC), with a Letter of Intent period beginning in July 2025 and full applications opening in August. Applications for the 2026-2028 grant cycle are due by June 30, 2025. Nonprofit organizations must submit their applications through the Levitt Foundation website, except Mississippi applicants pursuing the combined grant, who must apply through MAC. Questions regarding eligibility, including distance from existing or planned Levitt venues, should be directed to the Levitt Foundation via musicseriesgrants@levitt.org. There is no specified application opening date, but the application window is currently open.
