Avon Greater Together Community Fund

The Avon Greater Together Community Fund was established by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving in 2019 with an initial investment of $100,000. Since its inception, the fund has received an additional $150,000, bringing the total to $250,000. The fund supports the Town of Avon by addressing local community needs, fostering civic engagement, and striving for a more inclusive, equitable Avon. The Avon Greater Together Community Fund Advisory Committee plays a key role in managing the fund, promoting engagement from a wide array of community members, and ensuring that the fund's impact is maximized for the benefit of Avon’s residents. In 2025, the Avon Greater Together Community Fund is opening a new round of competitive grants. The purpose of this round is to fund nonprofit projects that benefit Avon residents, particularly initiatives that encourage civic participation and community engagement. Grants will be awarded to organizations proposing projects that address the community's needs, with the aim of creating a stronger and more inclusive town. The minimum grant request is $1,000, and the applications are due by Monday, March 17, 2025. The application process is detailed, with necessary documents available online, including an RFP, a Word Document application version, a project budget template, and a webinar on fiscal sponsorship basics. A virtual application completion workshop is scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2025, at 7 PM to guide applicants through the process.
