The AI Academy: American Infrastructure program, facilitated by Google for Startups, is a four-month, equity-free accelerator initiative designed to support U.S.-based startups operating within key sectors critical to American infrastructure. This hybrid program seeks to empower early-stage companiesโfrom Seed to Series Aโthat are developing AI-driven solutions to challenges in fields such as agriculture, education, cybersecurity, housing, manufacturing, transportation, and more.
The program equips participants with advanced AI tools and technical expertise, leveraging technologies such as Vertex AI, TensorFlow, Gemini, and the Cloud AI Platform. In addition to technical resources, selected startups gain access to mentorship from Google experts, leadership coaching, sales and marketing training, and personalized product design sprints. A defining element of the program is its combination of virtual engagements and a pivotal in-person summit at Google.
Applicants must have at least one cofounder based in the U.S. or its territories and demonstrate strong traction or post-revenue operations. Furthermore, eligible startups must be actively utilizing or building with AI in their product development or internal processes and belong to one of the infrastructure-related sectors identified by the program, including healthcare, energy, smart cities, public safety, and others.
Applications are currently open and must be submitted by May 13, 2025. Participation requires a time commitment appropriate for a multi-faceted accelerator, though the majority of the program will be virtual, allowing for broader access and flexibility.
Through this program, Google for Startups aims to accelerate innovation that strengthens the foundational systems of American society by backing mission-driven startups with the tools and connections to succeed on a larger scale.
