Grant Description

The TD Charitable Foundation, established in 2002, is the philanthropic arm of TD Bank, N.A. Its mission is to support and enhance the quality of life in the communities it serves through strategic investments in nonprofit organizations. As part of this commitment, the foundation provides Regional Grants to eligible organizations that deliver impactful, programmatic services to low- to moderate-income and historically underserved populations. Regional Grants are designed to support nonprofit and public-sector initiatives that align with the TD Ready Commitment’s four drivers of change. The foundation looks for programmatic efforts that are measurable, address community needs, and expand or enhance services provided by the applicant organization. Priority is given to initiatives that are inclusive, serve diverse communities, and improve economic inclusion or well-being. To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code or be a qualified public school or local/state government entity that is not a private foundation. Organizations must be located within a TD Bank, N.A. metro market and adhere to the foundation’s anti-discrimination policy. Grant requests under $5,000 will not be considered, and only one Regional Grant may be awarded per organization in a 12-month period. Regional Grants are available for programmatic efforts only and are reviewed bi-monthly. For the 2026 grant cycle, application deadlines include September 12 and November 14, 2025. Decisions are communicated in late November 2025 and late January 2026, respectively. Impact reports must be submitted approximately nine months after the award date, with guidance and access provided via TD’s online portal. Applications must be submitted through the online platform and require the following documents: a list of board members, the most recent financial audit or IRS tax form, proof of 501(c)(3) status or equivalent government documentation, current operating budget, and a project-specific budget. In addition to financial data, applicants must describe the program, amount requested, target population, desired outcomes, and community value. Applicants with programmatic questions may reach out to regional contacts listed by service area. Final funding decisions are made by the TD Charitable Foundation’s Board after review and recommendation by regional committees. The program operates on a recurring basis with multiple review windows each year.
