The 2025 Newton Community Foundation (NCF) Grant, administered in affiliation with the Central Kansas Community Foundation (CKCF), offers targeted funding to support health-related initiatives for residents of Newton, Kansas. The program draws from the Kansas Health Foundation Fund β Newton and has a total of approximately $7,100 available for disbursement. The primary aim of this grant is to address local health challenges and promote individual and community well-being through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors, and environments.
This funding initiative integrates the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its evaluation framework. Proposals should ideally align with global priorities related to reducing health, education, and economic inequalities, while also addressing climate and environmental concerns at the local level.
Eligible applicants include organizations with 501(c)(3) IRS designation, as well as entities exempt under statute such as educational institutions, churches, cities, or counties. Organizations without their own exempt status may also apply if formally linked to an eligible organization. Applicants must demonstrate ethical, experienced, and responsible management.
The maximum award amount for each grant is $2,000. While modest, these grants are intended to create high-impact, localized health interventions. The application window opens on April 1, 2025, and all applications must be submitted online by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. Projects cannot commence before June 2025 and must be completed by February 7, 2026, unless an extension is pre-approved. Applicants previously funded must have submitted their required follow-up report to be considered eligible this cycle.
The application review is conducted by the NCF Grant Review Committee, which may request additional clarification during the evaluation process. For assistance, applicants may contact Greg Bontrager, Associate Director for the Newton/North Newton Community Foundations, or Melissa Schreiber, Grant Program Officer at CKCF, via phone or email.
