Grant Description

The Plainview Area Endowment Grants are overseen and awarded by the Plainview Area Endowment Advisory Board. This Board is responsible for making all grantmaking policy decisions and recommendations regarding grant awards. The Endowment is dedicated to supporting organizations that serve the Plainview area, and its funding is restricted to entities classified as 501(c)(3) organizations or their governmental equivalents. The Endowment does not support grants to individuals, nor does it provide funding for political purposes, debt retirement, or the payment of interest or taxes. The purpose of these grants is to provide financial support to eligible organizations to foster community development and enhance services within the Plainview area. The funding scope is broad, encompassing start-up funding, general operating support, program support, and demonstration programs. Grant amounts are variable but cannot exceed $5,000, depending on the type of fund from which resources are provided. All grant recipients are required to report on the expenditure of grant funds and the results of their supported projects within one year of receiving the award. The application process for these grants is conducted online, with applications accepted from April 28 through July 1. Upon successful completion and submission of an application, applicants will receive an email confirming that their submission was successful. It is critical that this confirmation email indicates the application was "SUBMITTED," not merely saved, to ensure it is considered for review. Applicants who do not receive this confirmation are advised to contact the fund administrators for assistance. Once the application period closes, the review process begins. Completed proposals are distributed to the Advisory Board for review and comment. During this process, the Grants Committee may request additional information or conduct a site visit. All applicants must also make a presentation as part of the review process. The Grants Committee will make recommendations to the Advisory Board based on these reviews. Applicants will be notified of the Board’s final decision as soon as possible following the Board meeting where their application was considered. Notifications of grant awards are typically sent out two months after the application deadline. For those interested in applying, additional resources and access to prior grant applications can be found through the provided online portal. Questions about the proposal process can be directed to Denise Oviedo at denise@cfwtx.org or by calling (806) 762-8061.
