Grow Greene County Competitive Grant

Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation operates as a nonprofit gaming association committed to investing in the improvement and enrichment of Greene County, Iowa. The 2026 Grow Greene County Competitive Grant Application opens on October 1, 2025, and offers funding to eligible applicants serving Greene County communities. Applications must be submitted online by February 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM through the Community Force portal. This grant opportunity is intended for organizations that significantly contribute to the well-being of Greene County residents. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, government entities such as municipalities, school districts, and the county, as well as groups sponsored by qualifying fiscal agents. All applicants must submit a copy of their IRS nonprofit designation letter and an active Certificate of Existence from the Iowa Secretary of State. If applicable, IRS 990 or 990-N filings may also be requested. A copy of the resolution or meeting minutes from the organization’s board approving the project is required, and letters verifying matching funds are appreciated though not mandated. Grow Greene County emphasizes transparency; all submissions and supporting documents become public upon submission. The minimum request amount is $35,000. Applicants with funding needs below this threshold should apply to the Greene County Community Foundation instead. The grant excludes support for routine operational costs, fully funded projects, individuals, for-profit entities, religious or political activities, civic memberships, endowments, fundraising events, and private campaigns. Two optional grant workshops will be held on November 20, 2025, at 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM in the ISU Extension Meeting Room to guide applicants through the online application process. Successful applicants will be notified in April and must attend the awards event on April 7, 2026. Awardees are expected to publicize Grow Greene County’s support in marketing materials related to the funded project. Failure to comply with reporting requirements may impact future eligibility.
