Conservation and Environment Grants
The North Texas Community Foundation is offering Conservation and Environment Grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 to 501(c)(3) nonprofits in selected counties, for projects focused on land and natural resource protection, conservation of native Texas species and habitats, and environmental education.
The North Texas Community Foundation invites eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations to apply for the 2025 Conservation & Environment Grant, which is designed to support projects that promote environmental stewardship and land preservation across eleven counties in North Texas. These include Bosque, Denton, Hill, Hood, Jack, Johnson, Parker, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise, and Young Counties. The Foundation is particularly interested in funding initiatives that preserve open space, such as land used for agricultural purposes or habitats supporting wildlife and botanical resources. The grant also supports projects that advance the conservation of native Texas species and habitats, including urban green spaces, parks, prairie restoration efforts, community gardens, and landscaped medians or parkways. In addition to conservation-focused projects, the program funds educational initiatives that raise public awareness about the importance of protecting natural resources and land. Proposals that strengthen existing conservation efforts or increase operational capacity to sustain environmental programs are also welcome. Grant awards are capped at $25,000 per organization for conservation and environment projects. Educational programming grants are limited to $7,500 per organization. All applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online grants portal. An optional nonprofit orientation webinar will be held via Zoom on August 28, and a recording will be made available afterward on the Foundation’s website. The grant cycle opened on August 19, 2025, and all applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on September 18, 2025. Applicants will be notified of awards during the week of November 3, 2025, and grant funds will be distributed by mid-November. Organizations are encouraged to contact grants@northtexascf.org with any questions, but must do so at least one week prior to the submission deadline.
