Martin County Community Foundation Grant

The Martin County Community Foundation Unrestricted Endowment offers annual competitive grant funding to support a wide range of community needs in Martin County, North Carolina. This opportunity is part of the broader network of the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF), which supports charitable initiatives through affiliate foundations, giving circles, and other community-based funds. The Martin County Community Foundation (MCCF), established in 2004, is guided by a local volunteer advisory board and focuses on building community assets, managing endowments, and distributing grants that strengthen the region’s nonprofit sector. The unrestricted endowment grant cycle for Martin County opens March 6, 2026, and closes at noon Eastern Time on April 7, 2026. Applications must be submitted through the NCCF Grant Application Portal, and late or incomplete submissions, including those delayed by technical issues, will not be accepted. Grants will be awarded from the community grantmaking fund and typically range from $500 to $1,500. While individual award amounts may be modest, the support is intended to reach a broad spectrum of community programs. In 2025, MCCF distributed $3,300 in grants to four local organizations. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) public charities, organizations with qualifying fiscal sponsors, public schools, local government entities, fire and rescue departments, and religious entities seeking funding for nonsectarian charitable services. Organizations must serve Martin County and must uphold a policy of nondiscrimination in their services. Applications for specific programs or general operating support are allowed unless otherwise specified. However, grants may not be used for capital campaigns, lobbying, reimbursements, or activities restricted to religious doctrine or benefit of named individuals. Applicants are encouraged to review specific guidelines for each program, as different community funds may impose unique eligibility requirements or focus areas. For example, some may prioritize capacity-building projects or restrict funding based on organizational budget size. Organizations should also consult the annual Community Needs Assessment, which helps inform grantmaking priorities in Martin County. All applicants must read the application guidelines thoroughly.
