The United Way of Alamance County (UWAC) 2026 Community Investment Grants program provides funding to local agencies working to advance housing stability and financial security for individuals and families in Alamance County, North Carolina. The funding initiative aligns with UWACโs mission to mobilize resources and partner with the community to improve lives through evidence-based and locally responsive programs. Applicants may request up to $15,000, with the funding period running from January 1 to December 31, 2026. Proposals that exceed the maximum request will not be considered. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, governmental units, or faith-based entities with at least three years of established program operations and one full fiscal year of financial data. Organizations must also be listed in the NC 211 database and must be in good standing with all financial and legal reporting requirements. Programs must address housing or financial security through direct services, prevention, or systemic efforts. Examples of priority funding areas include eviction prevention, emergency rental and utility assistance, housing navigation and case management, affordable housing, financial coaching, adult education, and job training. Applications that demonstrate collaboration, equity, community engagement, and outreach to marginalized populations are prioritized. The grant application portal opens on August 18, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to attend one of two training sessions offered via Zoom on August 21 and August 27, 2025. All applications must be submitted through the Community Force portal by 5:00 p.m. on September 19, 2025. Site visits will be conducted between September 29 and October 29 as part of the review process, and funding decisions will be announced by December 19, 2025. Grants will be disbursed for the 2026 calendar year. Recipients are required to complete mid-year and end-of-year reports.
