Jetton Charitable Fund
This grant provides funding to nonprofit organizations in Omaha that engage school-age youth in cultural education through the performing and visual arts, natural sciences, and historical studies.
The Jetton Charitable Fund is a Field of Interest Fund administered by the Omaha Community Foundation. Its mission is to support the cultural education of school-age youth in Omaha, Nebraska, by funding programs that integrate performing and visual arts, natural sciences, technological education, zoological and botanical exploration, and historical studies. The Fund aims to support community-oriented programs that extend educational experiences beyond traditional classrooms, prioritizing initiatives that engage a broad audience through cultural institutions. Grants from the Jetton Charitable Fund are directed toward nonprofits that focus on youth engagement in performing and visual arts—with an emphasis on the performing arts—as well as in scientific and historical educational fields. The grant program seeks to foster enriching experiences for students and emphasizes access to learning opportunities grounded in cultural and educational value. To be eligible for funding, applicant organizations must be public, tax-exempt nonprofits under Section 501(c)(3) and have operated for a minimum of five years. Additionally, at least 75 percent of their annual budget must be allocated to program delivery. Eligible applicants must serve a general population rather than one restricted by specific demographic factors, although programs can focus on particular youth age groups. Each applicant must demonstrate that it serves at least 1,000 students annually. Organizations must also affirm compliance with a non-discrimination policy covering various personal and demographic characteristics. The Jetton Charitable Fund primarily awards grants to organizations in the Omaha metropolitan service area but may, under special conditions, extend eligibility to institutions in Lincoln, Nebraska, and broader Nebraska and Southwest Iowa. Grant funds are generally intended for programmatic use, with rare exceptions for capacity-building efforts. The application period for this grant opens on June 1 and closes on July 15 each year. Applicants must apply online, and award notifications are issued by email in September. Organizations that received prior funding may reapply, provided they meet the current guidelines and have submitted an evaluation report from the prior year.
