The UVA Community Credit Union Foundation is the charitable division of the UVA Community Credit Union, organized in 2024 to further its mission of strengthening the financial wellness of its members and the communities it serves. The Foundation provides targeted grant funding to nonprofit organizations operating within the credit union's service areas. These grants are designed to support impactful projects that align with the Foundation’s core focus areas: Children’s Health, Food Stability, and Affordable Housing.
Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide services in a community where the UVA Community Credit Union has either a physical branch or a significant member presence. Projects must directly support one or more of the designated impact areas. Examples of qualifying efforts include initiatives promoting healthy child development, programs addressing food insecurity, and projects that build or renovate affordable housing units.
The grant program offers funding of up to $10,000 per application. There is no minimum award amount. Applicants are required to submit a completed grant application form along with their IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter and a full program budget. Optional supporting documents such as brochures and images are also welcome. Applications are accepted via email and must follow the subject line formatting guidelines provided in the Foundation’s instructions.
The grant cycle opens on September 1, 2025, and closes on October 15, 2025. Applications will be reviewed by the Board from October 16 through November 30, with funding decisions communicated by December 1, 2025. All recipients must agree to publicity provisions, including mention on the Foundation's website and social media channels. Grantees must also provide stories, photos, and a completed Use of Funds Report as part of the post-award requirements.
Ineligible activities include requests from individuals, advertising or sponsorships, political or fraternal organizations, athletic programs, and travel-related events. The Foundation explicitly disallows funding for discriminatory organizations. Questions about the grant application process can be directed to foundation@uvacreditunion.org.
Use proper email subject line format. Include optional media for stronger submissions. Ensure impact area is clearly aligned.
