The Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grants (OSG) Program provides funding for municipalities and municipal entities to develop projects that utilize green infrastructure to manage, reduce, treat, or recapture stormwater. This funding aims to support environmentally sustainable solutions in stormwater management, with priority given to financially distressed and rural communities.
Eligible applicants are municipalities and municipal entities as defined under 33 USC Section 1362. Projects must begin within 18 months of receiving the award and be substantially completed within three years. To qualify, projects must meet the Green Project Reserve requirements, ensuring they align with federal green infrastructure standards. Importantly, funds from this program cannot be used for operation or maintenance expenses.
For projects in non-distressed urban communities, a funding match of 20% in non-federal funds is required. Applicants should review their community’s designation to understand the matching requirements.
Applications are open from October 1, 2024, until 5:00 PM on January 10, 2025. The application process requires uploading specific documents, and applicants must have a Google account to complete the submission.
