Community Foundation of Coffee County Grant Program
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Coffee County and nearby areas for community-focused projects that demonstrate significant local impact.
The Community Foundation of Coffee County Community Grant Program is a regional funding initiative supported by the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. The foundation is based in Macon, Georgia, and operates to strengthen local philanthropic efforts throughout Central Georgia. This particular grant program is administered specifically for organizations within Coffee County and its surrounding areas, offering financial support for community-oriented projects. The Community Foundation of Coffee County uses an unrestricted fund to facilitate these grants, reflecting the organization's commitment to addressing diverse local needs as they arise. The program is designed to support nonprofit organizations serving Coffee County and nearby communities. Eligible entities must be registered nonprofits and demonstrate a meaningful impact within the geographic boundaries of the program. Notably, the funder emphasizes its preference for applications that utilize this grant as part of a broader funding strategy—specifically, to leverage matching funds from other sources. This approach is intended to increase the overall impact and sustainability of funded projects. In 2025, the total grant pool for the Community Grant Program is $10,000. Rather than distributing numerous smaller awards, the foundation has chosen to award a few significant grants. This strategic allocation aims to deliver deeper, more transformative support for selected initiatives. Each nonprofit may only submit one proposal within any twelve-month period, ensuring equitable access to the funding opportunity over time. Award decisions are made through a thorough due diligence process led by the Community Foundation of Coffee County’s Board of Directors, with final approvals issued by the board of the Community Foundation of Central Georgia. Applicants must submit a complete online application via the foundation’s grant portal, which requires pre-registration. To register, organizations must create a user ID and password and allow at least one business day for processing. The application must include several required documents: a detailed project budget summary (indicating all funding sources and expenses), a board authorization letter, a current board of directors list (with terms and attendance percentages), the organization’s current annual operating budget, a current IRS determination letter (or a statement about the status of 501(c)(3) application), and either a financial audit report or the most recent IRS Form 990. The grant application deadline is August 15, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Notifications of funding decisions are generally issued within three months of the deadline. All grant recipients must submit a final report documenting the use of funds and the project’s outcomes. This report is due within 60 days of grant fund depletion, before applying for a new grant, or within one year of the application cycle’s deadline—whichever comes first. Beginning in 2024, all reports must be submitted through the online portal; paper submissions will no longer be accepted. In terms of public communications, funded projects must refer to the grant as a “Community Grant from the Community Foundation of Coffee County.” Grant recipients are encouraged to promote their projects via media releases and social media, tagging the foundation when applicable. A copy of all materials developed using the foundation’s logo or branding must be included in the final report. The foundation’s office can be contacted by phone at 478-750-9338 or toll-free at 866-750-9338. Email inquiries should be directed to info@cfcga.org.
