Sally Morris Community Impact Grants
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Ripley County, Indiana, for significant community projects that promote arts, education, health, or environmental initiatives.
The Sally Morris Community Impact Grant is administered by the Ripley County Community Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Indiana, with a mission to support the charitable and developmental efforts of local nonprofit organizations. These grants are designed to fund sizable projects that enhance the reach and impact of community-oriented organizations operating within Ripley County. With a focus on significant initiatives, the grants provide financial assistance for efforts that align with one or more of the Foundation’s core service areas. The program provides up to $10,000 per grant and is available twice per calendar year. Eligible organizations can apply for both a Sally Morris Community Impact Grant and a Small Projects Grant in the same year, though they must follow the respective application guidelines. Applications are accepted year-round, but to be considered for a particular cycle, they must be submitted by 11:59 PM on the first Friday of April or the first Friday of August. If the deadline falls on a holiday when the Foundation is closed, it is extended to the next business day. Late submissions are not eligible for review. To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofit organizations operating within Ripley County. Eligible entities must qualify under IRS Code Section 501(c) or be sponsored by such organizations. Governmental and educational institutions with similar attributes per IRS Code Section 509(a) are also permitted to apply. Organizations must have responsible fiscal sponsors and sound accounting systems. Additionally, they must be in good standing with the Foundation, having fulfilled all reporting obligations for previously awarded grants. Grant applications must clearly serve one or more of the Foundation’s four service areas: Arts & Culture, Education & Workforce Development, Health & Well-Being, and Environment & Natural Resources. Each category supports specific goals—from enhancing cultural appreciation and local economies to promoting healthy lifestyles and environmental stewardship. Applications for projects that are already completed or funded will not be accepted. Furthermore, grants will not be awarded for purposes such as travel, lobbying, endowments, equipment already purchased, property acquisition, or for sectarian religious activities. However, religious organizations may apply if the project serves a general community purpose or involves the preservation of historical sites. All grant recipients are required to sign a Grant Award Agreement and complete a Grant Report Form. Non-compliance with these terms can result in disqualification from future grant opportunities. The Foundation reserves the right to decline any application at its discretion. Questions may be directed to the Foundation's office at [email protected] or by calling (812) 933-1098. The office is located at 13 E. George St., Suite B, Batesville, Indiana and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
