PrEP Lab Support

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), through its Public Health Services - Prevention division, is offering funding under RFGA2026-05 for a Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) Lab Support program. This initiative is part of Arizona’s broader public health strategy aimed at reducing HIV transmission rates statewide. The grant is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) via a cooperative agreement under CFDA number 93.940, linked to the CDC Integrated HIV Surveillance and Prevention Programs for Health Departments (CDC-PS-18-1802). The purpose of this funding opportunity is to establish a statewide PrEP Lab Support Services program to assist HIV-negative individuals at risk of acquiring HIV with gaining access to PrEP diagnostic and maintenance labs. The primary objectives are to increase the number of at-risk individuals who utilize PrEP as a preventive intervention and to reduce the overall incidence of HIV across Arizona. To meet these goals, applicants must be capable of delivering PrEP-related lab services effectively and ensuring that awarded funds are used exclusively for program-related activities. Funding is expected to total approximately $800,000 annually, with a five-year funding cycle extending through June 2027. Awards will be made through a Request for Grant Application (RFGA) process, and sub-grantees will be selected based on their demonstrated capacity to deliver services to all regions within Arizona. ADHS anticipates issuing one award under this RFGA. Grantees are responsible for providing a detailed budget using the required Attachment F - Budget Workbook and must comply with the funding restrictions outlined in the solicitation. Eligible applicants must be not-for-profit organizations and may include state or local government agencies, tribal entities, organizations with 501(c)(3) status, and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) not currently receiving direct PrEP funding from the HRSA Bureau of Primary Health Care. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to offer PrEP lab support services, utilize funds strictly for programmatic purposes, and avoid funding duplication with existing federal sources. The application window opens on August 7, 2025, and closes on September 25, 2025.
