To ensure equitable access to funding, Monte Sereno has developed clear evaluation criteria for grant applicants. Eligible applicants must either be based in Monte Sereno, serve its residents, or demonstrate a strong connection to the community. Services or events funded by the grant must be offered to the public free of charge. Additionally, the applicant must be a registered nonprofit, comply with all applicable laws including anti-discrimination regulations, and be primarily volunteer-led. The program strictly prohibits the use of funds for political advocacy or lobbying.
The application process for fiscal year 2025–2026 requires submissions to be filed no later than May 1, 2025. Applications will be reviewed during the Monte Sereno City Council meeting scheduled for May 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Monte Sereno City Hall. This structured process allows for fair and transparent consideration of each proposal in alignment with the city’s goals.
All grant recipients must carry insurance coverage for their events and organizations. Furthermore, funded entities must agree to indemnify the City of Monte Sereno and its associated individuals from liability related to their activities or personnel. This ensures the city is protected while enabling community organizations to operate independently.
