Greenwood Women Care Grant 2025
This grant provides financial support to nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents in Greenwood County, South Carolina.
Greenwood Women Care (GWC) is an initiative of the Greenwood County Community Foundation in Greenwood, South Carolina. It is a philanthropic womenโs organization committed to inspiring women to make a difference in the community through collective learning, giving, and granting. GWC supports nonprofit organizations that directly benefit Greenwood County residents by providing competitive grant opportunities and fostering connections among local charitable entities. The 2025 GWC Grants are open to organizations with 501(c)(3) or comparable tax-exempt status. Eligible applicants must serve Greenwood County residents and must adhere to non-discrimination policies regarding age, race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or religious belief. Organizations may also apply for Greenwood County Community Foundation funding in the same year. However, recipients of a GWC grant cannot reapply in consecutive years; for example, a 2025 recipient would next be eligible in 2027. For the 2025 grant cycle, GWC will consider proposals from any sector that enhances the quality of life in Greenwood County. Awards will range from $1,000 to $10,000, and partial funding may be awarded at the discretion of GWC. Funding is for one year only, and no multi-year grants will be considered. The organization does not fund capital or endowment campaigns, re-granting activities, travel and professional conferences, individuals, or projects that promote religious or political views. Approved funds must be used for the purposes outlined in the application; unused funds must be returned unless permission for reallocation is granted. The grant process for 2025 follows a set timeline. Applications will be accepted from August 1, 2025, through August 31, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. In September, proposals will be evaluated, followed by a membership vote in October. Notifications to applicants will be made in October 2025. Applications must be submitted electronically via email to gwc@greenwoodcf.org, with the completed application form and all supporting documents provided as separate attachments. Only one application per organization per cycle is allowed. Grant recipients will be required to participate in a brief video report for presentation at the August 2026 GWC Membership meeting and to submit a written final report by December 1, 2026. Future funding eligibility depends on timely submission of this report. GWC also reserves the right to audit records related to the grant. While attending an information session is not mandatory, it is recommended to gain a clear understanding of the application process. Session dates are posted online. Contact Jan Puzar at 864-344-7842 or Debbie Coesens at adcoesens@gmail.com for additional information or assistance. By maintaining these clear guidelines and transparent processes, GWC continues its mission of improving quality of life in Greenwood County through impactful, well-managed grants that reflect the needs and priorities of the community.
