Youth Grant Program

The City of Lawrenceburg Youth Grant Program, administered by the Dearborn Community Foundation (DCF), provides grant funding to nonprofit organizations that directly benefit youth ages 0 through 18 in Dearborn County, Indiana. The program places emphasis on equitable geographic distribution, allocating half of the available funds to programs where at least 75% of participants reside in the Lawrenceburg school district and the other half to programs serving youth where at least 90% of participants reside in Dearborn County. The grant program operates multiple cycles each year, with deadlines occurring approximately every two months. For the fourth cycle in 2025, applications are due by October 13 at 4:00 PM. The maximum allowable funding per organization per calendar year is $8,000. Applicants must provide demographic percentages for Lawrenceburg and Dearborn County youth served by their proposed programs. An advisory committee composed of representatives from local community organizations—such as Lawrenceburg Babe Ruth Baseball, Lawrenceburg Community Center, Lawrenceburg/Greendale Soccer Club, Dearborn County 4-H, Lawrenceburg Pee Wee Football, Lawrenceburg Lions Club, and Citizens Against Substance Abuse—reviews applications and advises DCF on funding recommendations. Certain expenditures are ineligible for support. These include salaries, employee benefits, prizes, trophies, medals, awards, uniforms for All-Star or coaching staff, referee or umpire fees, scorekeeping fees, and property improvements on land not owned by the applicant organization. Additionally, school-sponsored programs are generally not eligible unless the school first applies to its respective Endowment Corporation or Education Foundation and submits written documentation of that request’s outcome along with the Youth Grant application. Applicants should note that grant review decisions may take up to three months after the submission deadline. Organizations are advised to align their project timelines accordingly.
