The Generosity Collective, a giving circle focused on Springfield, Missouri, has opened the 2025 cycle of its grantmaking program. The Collective unites individuals who pool their donations, study significant community issues, and collaboratively select grant recipients. The 2025 grantmaking categories are drawn from the latest Community Focus Report and aim to address urgent local challenges.
For this cycle, the focus areas are Child Abuse and Neglect, and Access to Child Care. Greene County continues to face high rates of child abuse and neglect compared to the Missouri state average, highlighting an urgent need for intervention to ensure children's safety and future community health. Meanwhile, Springfield is experiencing a critical shortage in child care availability, particularly for infants, toddlers, and those eligible for Head Start programs. The need is pressing to expand quality care options rather than forcing parents to choose based on limited availability.
The grant program offers a total of $105,000, with $52,500 awarded to one selected agency in each focus area. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and other IRS-recognized entities such as government units, school districts, and churches that serve the Springfield, Missouri community. The preferred project timeframe is twelve months, and funds may be used for program start-up costs or operational support.
The grant process consists of a two-phase application. Initial Phase 1 applications are due by May 29, 2025, at 11:45 p.m. Finalists will be notified by July 10, 2025, and will then be asked to produce a short video to supplement their application. Finalist videos must be submitted by August 14, 2025. Grant awards will be announced by early November 2025.
