Grant Description

The 2026 Cox Charities Community Grant Program is administered by Cox Communications through its philanthropic division, Cox Charities. This initiative is designed to support nonprofit organizations that operate within the designated Cox East Markets and are aligned with Cox’s broader community impact strategy. The funder, Cox Communications, is a major broadband communications and entertainment company that offers advanced digital video, Internet, telephone, and home automation services. Through Cox Charities, the company aims to give back to the communities it serves by supporting nonprofit organizations focused on youth education, sustainability, and economic opportunity. The Community Grant Program supports projects under three main pillars: youth innovation through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), environmental sustainability, and equal opportunity initiatives. Specifically, grant-funded activities must enhance education and innovation opportunities for youth, promote environmental restoration and infrastructure improvement, or increase access to education, job training, and workforce development for underserved populations. Proposals are evaluated based on their alignment with these pillars, clearly defined goals, potential community impact, and how outcomes will be measured and communicated. Applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with non-private foundation status and must operate within the Cox East Markets, which include Central Florida, the Gulf Coast, Middle Georgia, Cleveland (Ohio), Connecticut, Rhode Island, Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia, and Roanoke. Organizations funded in both 2024 and 2025 are ineligible to apply in 2026, ensuring equitable distribution of funding opportunities. Only one application per organization will be considered. The application window for the 2026 cycle runs from February 2 to March 2, 2026. Interested organizations are required to submit a complete grant application via email, which must include a merged PDF containing the organization’s IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter and the proposed program budget. All application materials should be submitted to Rosaura Fernandez at [email protected]. Applications submitted without the required documentation or from ineligible organizations will not be considered. Submissions will be assessed on several criteria, including alignment with Cox Charities’ pillars, clarity of program goals and measurable outcomes, community need, and external communication strategies. Cox Charities also reserves the right to use the name, logo, and likeness of grant recipients for promotional purposes without the need for additional consent or review. While the 2026 cycle does not have a pre-application process or rolling deadlines, the grant program is recurring annually. Therefore, applicants who miss this year’s deadline may consider applying in future years. The next anticipated cycle is expected in Spring 2027. Interested parties are encouraged to review the full program guidelines before applying to ensure compliance with eligibility and submission requirements.
